Neaby Cities

Bariloche

Bariloche has a famous hotel, Llao Llao, with one of the most scenic golf courses in Latin America. This gorgeous town has a wide variety of activities such as shopping, nightlife, hiking, climbing, rafting, cannoning, mountain biking, and horseback riding. A common souvenir is the region’s chocolate. In many shops you are able to see how it is made.

This city is also known for its architectural features with buildings made of stone and wood with slated gabled roofs. Bariloche is also known for its beautiful landscape filled with mountains, woods, lakes, glaciers and flora.

A few kilometers to the north brings you to a beautiful tourist town called Villa La Angostura.  From this village you can arrive at the 7 Lakes Circuit, which is only 40 kilometers away from the Chile border.  This area is filled with lakes, rivers, and waterfalls and is known as one of the most important tourist spots in the province of Neuquen.  In addition to this, just a few kilometers north from the 7 Lakes is an excellent ski resort.

El Bolson

After returning to Bariloche from 7 lakes, you can head south and make your way through a scenic town called El Bolson.  This is a small town near the province of Rio Negro.  It is a mountain valley nuzzled in the Andes Mountains that leads to the Puelo Lake. There is a natural aroma that comes from the plant life and steep waterfalls.

Esquel

This is a city sitting over a natural amphitheatre of mountains filled with forestry and crystal-clear waters that reflect the surrounding trees. This mountain set village has ski runs for the winter and excursions through the mountains in the summer.  There is plenty of available equipment for fishing, skiing, and mountaineering.

Trevelin

This city began with the construction of a mill during the welsh immigration in 1860.  The most important characteristic of this town is the culture merge between the Welsh immigrants and the Natives.  This interesting history can be studied further at the Regional Historical Museum.  One of the earliest settlers, John Daniel Evans, was drawn to the city by descriptions he had heard of wonderful, fruitful territories.  On his way in, he and his group were attacked by aborigines where all died except for Evans.  The place where this combat took place is now known as the Valley of the Martyrs.  This town is enclosed in mountains and is full of flowers, trees, strawberries, cherries, and raspberries. There are many historical sites and museums to visit. Also, it is fun to go out on expeditions of fishing, hiking, trekking, mountain biking, and rafting.

Corcovado

Many of our guests like to go five miles to Corcovado and see the workings of a real cow town.  Most people work on the ranches in the area.  It is not unusual to see the gauchos riding in to town with their sheepskin chaps at the end of the week to pick up their weekly vittles and go to the town dance. Corcovado is famous for its river with curves and white rapids.  Sportsmen come for all over the world to fish, raft, or kayak this river.  This river also contains salmon from the pacific.  This is, without doubt, the biggest tourist attraction.  Around 1,800 residents live in or around Corcovado.
