The temperature climate of the Estancia Poncho Moro is quite temperate because the valley floor is only 1,300 feet above sea level. There are significant elevation changes as some of the snowcapped mountains reach 7,000 feet in altitude which allows for one of the most diverse fauna and flora environments in the world.
The estancia Poncho Moro is roughly the same latitude as Portland, Oregon or Yellowstone National Park. As in any mountain area, the weather can change often. Wearing several layers of clothing is suggested year round because winds can blow at anytime or a rainstorm might appear without warning. It is not uncommon in the summer months (November-April) to have sunny days with cool breezes.
Seasons
By virtue of being in the Southern Hemisphere, the Estancia Poncho Moro allows owners to enjoy long summer days during the cold and short winter days of the US in winter. The fly fishing season is November through April and these are the months most people will be on the property. But, with only 30 owners, we do not expect there to be much activity.
